Why Cape Ado?

The name "Cape Ado" is what I've named my New Leaf towns since 2015.

One hot summer evening, a tornado passed by not far from my family's house. Nobody was hurt, thankfully, but it was an unnerving experience watching the sky blacken and the wind pick up so fast just beyond the porch. More relevant to New Leaf, we were left without power until well into the next day—and air conditioning, which made trying to get to sleep a nightmare—so all I had was my phone and my 3DS to pass the time. So, I restarted my New Leaf save file as I'd been thinking of doing for a while, naming it "Cape Ado" in honor of the event that led to its creation. It's a play on "tornado", a reference to Animal Crossing being a comforting little time-sink for me over the years, and a description of the land where New Leaf towns take place! It's too perfect on all levels, so when I set out to make a "definitive" run of the game for myself, I knew that was what I had to name it.
